Although Czech composer DJSAW has music available in several online venues and dance music forums, there is not a lot of biographical information about them. So let's play detective. Their latest album Half Life is available and continues to expand on Amie Street, and I think we can use the track titles to tell us a little about the person behind the music.
DJSAW Likes SciFi, may even be a fanboy(girl??)... hence the tracks StarTrek and FifthElement. Both of these are dance songs that have a driving bass line and very well layered electronic. You will not stop moving when you hit the play button on these two songs.
DJSAW is into math or computer science... hence the tracks x-ray and The Point of View. In addition to infinitely danceable beats, both of these use rhythmic progressions that had to come from a scientifically artistic mind.
DJSAW like a mystery... hence the tracks Area 51 and Hats of my Hard ( someone please tell me what that last title means.. it is killing me.).
No bio... No Video... DJSAW is a musical X-File.. lets hope that the music keeps on mysteriously appearing in his Amie Street Store and we can keep on dancing....
Erroneous Lamps from the album 8Bits and pieces of.... is one of the new releases on Amie Street by electronica group Phade Out. This group from Newcastle, UK creates complexly layered electronica with weavings of piano melodies floating in and out. Not head pulsing dance floor electronica, this music engages the mind as well as the heart. Check it out.
With a voice like Christina Abbott's, you could do anything you wanted. It is hard to imagine her doing anything much better than what Hot Bitch Arsenal is when she gets together with Kim Galibert and makes music. Their latest release on Amie Street is actually a whole live set, with versions of 'Double down quick', 'Circus clown', '6 underground' and 'Rhythm'. They call their style "sultronica" a combination of soul and electronica, but I call it simply delicious for the ears, the brain and the soul. If you have not yet experienced HBA, this latest compilation is a great introduction.
Randomajestiq has been releasing great techno/electronica over the summer. If you did not get some of their earlier releases, use this new release as an easy way to check them out. Certainly not a newbie to the electronic music scene, this group form Belarus brings to each song great balance and production value as well as music that sweeps you away. A combination of atmospheric, electronica and sampled sounds this is a group you do not want to miss.
Here is a little jazz to set the mood for the upcoming weekend. Kobi Arad is a versatile jazz musician who does vocal as well as instrumental jazz. Some of his pieces are a potential cross over into the world of electronica and will make a good introduction to jazz for electronica fans who have not yet explored jazz. Ripples, from his album Compilation, is a good example of this. If you like the sound of his music, go check it out.. he currently has 7 different albums available on Amie Street.
