you heard it hear first. if you like Helicopter Down's sound, they just recently released a new 4 song album that is still selling for free. Their previous album quickly rocketed to 30-40 cents per song, so grab this one before everyone else does...I found it a great fusion of jazz and electronica-- a mellow but intriguing listen.
Never Enough, this sample track from The Broken Machine on their newly released Oblivion is a great new electronica dance piece. Do not let the first few seconds of calm environmental sound lure you.. once the drum tracks kick in, the tune starts to move. As layers are added, this becomes a jamming dance piece. Very nice use of layers and pacing.
More in the House style of electronica, Bassline by Carbon E Missions is a great dance tune. As the name suggests, the deep and penetrating bass get the song moving, but the beats and the electro melody playing through out it makes it a great groove. Right now you can grab the entire 3 song album Translucid for free..
Start out with a simple percussive riff, layer over bass, more percussion and electronic music and you have a groove that will move. This Drum and Bass piece from Sandro is a winner. Take a listen and let me know who you think...
I recently stumbled on the Hot Bitch Arsenal ( HBA), and am having a great time immersing myself in their tunes. Although they class themselves as electronic, they are somewhere in the land of Norah Jones meet Electronica. It may sound frightening, but the mix will move you. This song ( especially for Harry Potter fans...) is still free. Their most recent album is still under a buck and a half on amiestreet.
Check them out and let me know what you think..
