If you are not familiar with Dan Tharp, here is a great introduction to his gorgeous classical and acoustical guitar stylings. Check it out, and if you like it the download of the whole album was still under 2 bucks when this was published.
While there is not a free song left on the Sad Crazy Love Songs album, it is still priced under 2 bucks for 12 tracks and is worth every penny. Although you can hear the Beatles influence in these songs, there is also a lot of the Kinks and the Smithereens mixed in.
This is almost the album that the grandchildren of the original Beatles might have made, if they grew up in the family music and playing in their parents' 80's rock/pop albums. Pacing varies from hard rocking, rollicking tunes to quiet slow numbers.
Give it a listen:
Being TV deficient, I would never have known that Kolade is also apparently a very famous CSI actor... I have no idea if he can act, but he has a wonderful voice ! Not quite R&B, not quite soul, I am not sure where to classify this music. I almost want to call it vocal environmental experimental music. What ever you call it, it goes down easy on the ears. Smooth vocal riffs combined with live and electronic instrumentals and environmental sounds.. give it a listen.
The latest album release from The Be Good Tanyas is a musical delight for any folk/country lover. With voices that blend in ways that sooth and engage the listener, this original group has yet to release a bad album.
Check it our before the price jumps very high...
With music on Cruciform Injection's Aftermath album currently going for 15-20 cents per song, you can not find many deals better. With a hard driving industrial beat and a creative use of vocals, you will enjoy the whole post apocalyptic album. Click on the player for a sample. Maybe I have just been watching too much Jericho.. what do you think?
From the songs for under a quarter file, if you have any leanings toward the pro-evolution belief, you will love this song which features classic folk rock stylings. This Lemmings song, Evolution, could have come straight from Simon & Garfunkel. if nothing else, the line "God created stupid people too..." makes it all worthwhile.
More in the House style of electronica, Bassline by Carbon E Missions is a great dance tune. As the name suggests, the deep and penetrating bass get the song moving, but the beats and the electro melody playing through out it makes it a great groove. Right now you can grab the entire 3 song album Translucid for free..
A nice little song that reminds me a lot of the Bangles. This song by Ceramic Holiday will get your energy flowing.. Bounce on over and give it a listen.
Start out with a simple percussive riff, layer over bass, more percussion and electronic music and you have a groove that will move. This Drum and Bass piece from Sandro is a winner. Take a listen and let me know who you think...
I am late getting today's pick out, but it is worth the wait.
Take a listen to Eli "paperboy" Reed, but hang onto shorts before clicking play, he will blow them off!!
